4th Class Knitting

Knitting For Africa !

In Ms.Carneys fourth class, each of us pupils knitted at least three squares. We knitted three blankets in all different colours of the rainbow. After we finished knitting all the squares teacher crocheted them together and did a fancy border. On February 9th we sent the blankets to Africa for some poor children and their families. We hope all the children in Africa will be warm at night!

We had great fun knitting and when we were finished we displayed our blankets in the front hall. When we finished knitting our blankets we started to knit underwater creatures. Some people are knitting fishes, octopus and mermaids. I knitted an octopus and I called it Bob. I knitted it the same colour on two sides. It is blue. Some people knitted one side a colour and the other side another colour. We put eyes and a mouth on it. It was hard to follow the pattern but it was great fun.

When we finished knitting our under water sea creatures we all got together and made a mural. We had great fun. When we finished making it we put it outside our classroom and hung all the sea creatures from it. Come and see it soon!
