Science Week 2010

The theme for Science Week this year was 'Our Place in Space'. We did a lot of work on the moon, Mars, Mercury and other planets. A few girls from each class did some reading about a different planet each day. Here are some of the facts.

Neil Armstrong's footprints are still on the moon because there is no atmosphere.
Saturn's rings are brown. gold and orange.
Meteors are the same as shooting stars.
If you stood on Venus, you would slide through it and out the other end!
Sometiimes you can only see a small sliver of the moon, this is called the crescent.
On a calm night you can see Venus, It looks just like a star but much brighter!

We had our science week in November. We did lots of experiments in the classroom and demonstrated our work in the hall at the end of the week. We also got to see a science show, it was great fun.
