Our Second Green Flag
A letter arrived to the school with the good news that we had won our second green flag. Our names were picked out of a hat to attend the ceremony. We went to Croke Park with Ms. O' Donoghue and Ms. Hume. We took loads of pictures. We arrived first at the conference centre in Croke Park. A lady called Cathy from An Taisce welcomed us to the ceremony. Some schools were getting their first flag, some were getting their second flag and some were getting their third flag. Our school was called, we were presented with a certificate and our second green flag and a photograph was taken of our team by a photographer. |

After a lovely lunch of spaghetti bolognaise, we visited the GAA museum and Ms Hume bought us a present to remember a great day. |
For our third green flag, we have to save water. We will be planning this in September. We can't wait.

Energy Saving
On the 18th February our school had an Energy Saving day. We dressed in warm clothes and turned the heat off at 11 o'clock and ran laps to keep us warm in the yard. Between all of the classes we saved up to 123 gas units. Niamh Deans and Alexandra Keogh made up raps and songs about being green! |
Each class made energy saving scrap books. |

At home, We did a survey on how many energy saving light bulbs. Each family member was given a job to save energy at home, e.g. unplugging plugs at night time. In school we had a competition for closing the door and turning off the lights when leaving the room, the 'door and switch squad' went around the school twice last month and everyone has two star chances of being a winner.
