Malahide Castle
On June 14th the 2nd classes went to Malahide Castle. First of all we went for a tour inside the castle. We saw the large and small Drawing Room, the Oak Room, the bedrooms and the Great Hall. I liked the Great Hall the best because there was a 14 metre long table, a minstrels gallery, beautiful pictures and pucks door. (Puck is a ghost!). Then we went to the Fry Model Railway Station. It is full of old-fashioned trains. Then we had our lunch. After that we went to the playground. When we left the playground it was time to go home.

Kilkenny
 |
On Thursday June 15th 5th class went on their school tour to Kilkenny. First we went to Dunmore Caves which were very interesting and exciting. We had a tour guide to show us around the caves. In the caves there are 700 steps . Some parts of the caves are dark wet and gloomy. At one point during the tour our tourguide turned the lights off to give us an idea of what it was like for the women and children who had tried to escape from the Vikings in the caves hundreds of years ago |

| We then went to Kilkenny Castle. We had lunch in the castle grounds which were beautiful. Then we had a tour of the castle. We found out lots of interesting facts about the castle. We found out that the castle was first built as a wooden structure by Strongbow or Richard De Clare and that the Butlers of Ormond were one of the families to live in the castle. After that we got one hour to shop which was brilliant. Everyone had a wonderful day and we all enjoyed the tour very much. |

Ferrycarrig Folk Park
Ding - ding - ding ! My alarm clock kept beeping. I jumped out of bed and got ready for school. It was Thursday June 15th and I was going on my school tour. I was very excited. We were visiting the National Heritage Park in Wexford and I couldn't wait to see it! My partner on the bus was Orla and the busdriver put on a Bratz dvd for us .
When we arrived in Wexford our tour guide Jimmy met us. He brought us to the Fulacht Fia. In the Fulacht Fia there was some pig meat which was wrapped in straw. Jimmy took the meat out and we all got a taste. It was delicious!
Jimmy brought us around to see all the crannógs. He told us stories about how the Stone Age People lived. It was very interesting. We also saw a film and this told us more about the stone age. After the tour we ate our lunch and went into the gift shop. There was lots to be bought!
On our way back to Dublin we stopped at Brittas Bay. We ran around and took lots of photographs. We had a great day. It was lots of fun and I think it was the best school tour ever!

Kerry Trip
On Tuesday May 2nd I got up bright and early. I arrived at the train station where I was met by all the sixth class and the teachers and from there we started our fun packed adventure to Kerry. The journey was great fun. It was our first time away together and we were very excited. We arrived at our hotel at one o’ clock where, after a quick lunch, we boarded buses for Muckross house. The tour was very interesting and we all enjoyed it. That night after dinner we had a table quiz which was enjoyed by everyone. We fell into bed exhausted and arose the next morning for our trip to Dingle. Half way there the bus broke down but we were on the road again in no time. Ocean World was fabulous. That night we had a talent show. It was brilliant and very funny. We got up at half eight on Thursday to pack, and after we packed we had a quick breakfast before going shopping for our last time in Killarney. We were sad to leave but a great time was had by one and all.

3rd Class Visit The National Art Gallery
We went to the National Art Gallery on Wednesday May 17th. We travelled to the gallery on Dublin Bus. We saw all sorts of paintings. My favourite painting was of a school long ago. It showed a young boy about to get hit with a spoon. Frances, our tour guide, showed us other pictures. My second favourite was painted by Louis le Brocquy. The picture was about 3 people who were in the Second World War. The main reason why I liked the Art Gallery was because Frances was really nice and I loved looking at all the paintings. We had a great day!
